A personal website gives you the opportunity to show the admissions officers at your favorite colleges (or a future employer) who you really are and what you’ve accomplished. As they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” and with a personal website, you can show yourself in action and in color—doing whatever it is that you do best.

For example, you can show photos of yourself playing your favorite sport or performing in a band, concert, or play—or contributing to your community with a special service project. If you're an artist or photographer, you can show your work in the optional portfolio section. If you’ve been in the newspaper, you can post scans of those articles, or scans of just about anything such as awards, ribbons, medals, posters, playbills, etc.

You’ll have your own domain name, favicon, and banner, and you can customize the pages of your site in these suggested areas: About Me, Academics, Athletics, Community Service, Resume, Portfolio (optional), and Contact Me.
